The reaction of anthranilic acid hydrazide with ethyl 3,4-dihydroxy-6-oxohepta-2,4-dienoate afforded ethyl (2Z)-(3a-hydroxy-2-methyl-10-oxo-3,3a,5,10-tetrahydro-4H-pyrazolo[5,1-c][1,4]benzodiazepin-4-ylidene)acetate as solvate with one methanol molecule.
