Аннотация: The one-step preparation of diethyl 2-ethoxy-6-CF3-2H-pyran-3,5-dicarboxylate via the condensation of ethyl 4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetate with CH(OEt)3 has been reported and a plausible mechanism for this transformation is discussed. To demonstrate the synthetic potential of the obtained pyran, the reactions with ammonia and aromatic amines to give trifluoromethylated pyridine derivatives are presented.

Аннотация: Novel 5,11-dialkyl-6,12-di(thiophen-2-yl) substituted 5,11-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazoles have been obtained and plausible ways for their further modifications via the Friedel–Crafts reaction are presented. The formylation of these indolo[3,2-b]carbazoles with dichloromethyl alkyl esters catalysed by Lewis acids leads to the formation of the corresponding 2,8-diformyl derivatives. Applicability of this formylation method for modification of indolo[3,2-b]carbazoles bearing electron-rich aromatic substituents at C-6 and C-12 has also been demonstrated. The Knoevenagel condensation of 2,8-dialdehydes with active methylene nitriles has been studied. The measurements of optical and redox properties for a number of new indolo[3,2-b]carbazoles have been performed

Аннотация: The condensation of 3-arylhydrazinylidenepentane-2,4-diones with hydrazine hydrate, 2-hydroxyethylhydrazine, benzylhydrazine hydrochloride, and 4-hydrazinylbenzenesulfonamide hydrochloride gave 4-aryldiazenyl-3,5-dimethylpyrazoles. An alternative route to the synthesis of N-substituted 4-aryldiazenylpyrazoles is based on the alkylation of NH-pyrazoles with haloalkanes. The synthesized compounds were tested for antimicrobial activity against eight pathogenic dermatophytes, yeast-like fungi of the Candida genus and the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae. The structure—activity relationship analysis showed that 4-tolyldiazenylpyrazoles bearing H, AcO(CH2)4, or HO(CH2)4 substituents at the N(1) atom have the highest mycostatic activity against all the dermatophyte strains under study. However, 4-aryldiazenyl-3,5-dimethylpyrazoles proved to be quite cytotoxic against the McCoy B cell line.

Аннотация: Carbon-encapsulated Ni and Cu nanoparticles with a core/shell structure were synthesized by levitational gas condensation (LGC). Methane (CH4) gas was used to coat the surface of the Ni and Cu nanoparticles. The Ni particles had a core diameter of 10 nm, and were covered by 2–3 nm thin carbon layers. In the case of Cu, the particles had a core diameter of 30 nm, and multi-shells with a thickness of 2–3 nm. Аннотация: A simple, convenient and effective method to synthesize 1,1,1,7,7,7-hexafluoroheptane-2,4,6-trione, the simplest fluorinated 1,3,5-triketone, on a preparative scale was developed. The title compound was obtained by a Claisen-type double condensation of acetone with trifluoroacetic acid ethyl ester and isolated as a solid monohydrate from the reaction mixture. Subsequent dehydration proceeds smoothly to produce the desired compound as an individual substance. Its peculiar tautomeric (keto–enol, ring–chain) features in various solvents are discussed

Аннотация: Mononuclear copper(II) complexes were synthesized based on fluorinated diketonates decorated with a carbonyl or acetal group. The X-ray diffraction data demonstrate the effect of the nature of the fluorinated substituent on the crystal structure of homoleptic copper(II) complexes. As opposed to 1,2,4-triketonate, the acetal moiety of 1,3-diketonate enables intermolecular coordination to the metal centers, thereby making it possible to use 1,3-diketonate in further synthesis of heterometallic structures.

Аннотация: Condensation of ethyl 3-polyfluoroalkyl-3-oxopropionates with excess triethyl orthoformate gave ethyl 3-polyfluoroalkyl-2-ethoxymethylidene-3-oxopropionates which reacted with primary aliphatic, aromatic, and heterocyclic amines to form ethyl 2-alkyl(aryl, hetaryl)aminomethylidene-3-polyfluoroalkyl-3-oxopropionates. According to the X-ray diffraction and IR data, the latter exist in the crystalline state as the corresponding E isomers, while in solution (NMR data), as mixtures of Z and E isomers. Condensation of ethyl 2-ethoxymethylidene-3-oxopropionates with secondary heterocyclic amines (morpholine and pyrrolidine) led to the formation of 2-morpholino(pyrrolidin-1-yl)methylidene-3-fluoroalkyl-3-oxopropionates which were shown to exist as Z isomers both in the crystalline state and in solution

Аннотация: Methods for the synthesis of fluorinated pyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazoles have been developed, and a series of such compounds has been obtained and studied for biological activity. In particular, 5,6-difluoro-2-cyanobenzimidazole (II) was synthesized for the first time using the reaction of 1,2-diamino-4,5-difluorobenzole (I) with cyanoacetic ether. Pyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazoles (III, IV) were obtained via condensation of benzimidazole II with diethylethoxymethylene malonate and ethyl acetoacetate. The synthesized pyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazoles (III–XIII) were subjected to screening on a culture of Vero cells for antiviral activity and cytotoxicity with respect to ortho-poxviruses that are pathogenic for humans. ??

Аннотация: Novel pharmacologically active silicon—titanium—zinc- and silicon—titanium—boron-containing glycerohydrogels were synthesized by the sol—gel method using silicon, titanium, zinc, and boron glycerolates as biocompatible precursors. The compositions and structural features of the hydrogels were studied by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, IR spectroscopy, atomic emission spectrometry, and elemental analysis methods. The disperse phase and liquid water—glycerol medium of the hydrogels were isolated by cold exhaustive extraction with ethanol and characterized. The 3D polymeric network of the gels is formed by the products of hydrolysis and subsequent (co)condensation of silicon-/silicon—boron-containing precursors. Titanium and zinc glycerolates undergo no hydrolytic transformations under gelation conditions and exist in the cells of the 3D polymeric network in the form of amorphous nanoparticles that are not linked to the network by covalent bonds. Models of the structures were proposed. The gels are characterized by antimicrobial activity, which is more pronounced for the silicon—titanium—boron-containing gel, and they can be considered as promising drugs for topical treatment prepared by the simple, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective method.
