Аннотация: A simple method based on hydrolysis of 2,3-dicyanopyrazinium salts has been used for the synthesis of the corresponding 5-(hetero)aryl-3-cyano-1-ethyl-2(1H)-pyrazinones. Also, the series of novel 1-ethyl-5-(hetero)aryl-1,6-dihydropyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitriles have been obtained through reduction of the same pyrazinium salts with triethylsilane. The obtained compounds proved to be active in micromolar concentrations in vitro against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv, Mycobacterium avium, Mycobacterium terrae, as well as against rifampicin and isoniazid-resistance strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The data for acute in vivo toxicity in mice have been obtained for these compounds which appear to be promising antitubercular agents

Аннотация: The hybrid materials based on polysiloxane modified by amino groups have been synthesized by the sol-gel method. Aminated polysiloxane has been prepared by the copolycondensation reaction of tetraethoxysilane with gamma-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APS-1) and through the modification of the product (APS-2) of the hydrolysis of tetraethoxysilane by gamma-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. The composition of sorbents has been confirmed by the elemental analysis and IR Fourier spectroscopy. The high degree of sorption extraction of copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II), zinc(II), cadmium(II), and lead(II) ions in the case of their coexistence in an ammonia-acetate buffer solution has been observed for polysiloxanes APS-2. The synthesized surface-modified materials exhibit the highest selectivity to nickel(II) and cobalt(II) ions

Аннотация: 1H and 29Si NMR spectroscopy showed that the product of the reaction of dimethyldiethoxysilane with glycerol in the molar ratio 1: 2 is an equilibrium mixture of dimethyldiglyceroxysilane and low-molecular-weight condensation products. Аннотация: A novel biologically active nanocomposite glycerohydrogel based on two biocompatible precursors, silicon and iron glycerolates, was synthesized by the sol—gel method in the presence of chitosan (Ch). The composition and structural features of the gel were characterized by advanced analytical methods including transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and atomic emission spectroscopy. It was shown that iron(iii) monoglycerolate undergoes partial hydrolysis under the gelation conditions and exists as a separate nanoscale phase along with the hydrolysis products in cells of the 3D Si-containing polymeric gel network. This network is formed as a result of incomplete hydrolysis of silicon glycerolates in excess glycerol followed by homo- and heterofunctional condensation of silanol groups with the formation of Si-O-Si units containing residual glyceroxy groups at the silicon atom. Chitosan forms numerous intermolecular bonds with the 3D gel network, accelerates the process of gelation, makes the gel morphostructure more ordered, and increases the stability of the gel. The Si-Fe-Ch-containing glycerohydrogel is nontoxic and possesses hemostatic and wound-healing activity, being a promising topical medication for medical and veterinary practice.

Under similar conditions, lithium (Z)-1,1,1-trifluoro-4-oxo-4-(thien-2-yl)-2-buten-2-olate forms a hydration product of the corresponding oxime. Nitrosation of fluoroalkyl-containing lithium 1,3-diketonates is accompanied by retro-decomposition of the initial lithium 1,3-diketonates and the target oximes (or their hydration products) followed by oxidation and hydrolysis of the reaction products. Under the GC-MS conditions, the oximes undergo partial thermal decomposition to 2-aryl(hetaryl)-2-oxoethanenitriles. An analysis of solutions of the oximes in DMSO-d6 by 1H and 19F NMR spectroscopies revealed isomerization and hydration of these compounds. The temperature ranges of stability of the oximes were determined by thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis. The molecular and crystal structures of 4,4-difluoro-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,2,3-butanetrione 2-oxime and 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-(thien-2-yl)-1,2,3-butanetrione 2-oxime were determined by X-ray diffraction.

Аннотация: The reactions of copper(II) and cobalt(II) mixed complexes based on methyl trifluorosalicylate and 2,2’-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline with 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropan-2-ol (HFIP) as the Lewis acid were investigated. In the case of copper(II) complexes, the hydrolysis of ester fragment occurred to form heteroligand complexes of trifluorosalicylic acid and bipyridine-like ligand associated with fluorinated alcohol. The structure of complexes corresponded to [Cu(L3-H2)(bipy or phen)*(HFIP), L3 −trifluorosalicylic acid]. In contrast, cobalt(II) complexes in refluxing HFIP resulted in the complexes [Co(L1-H)2(bipy or phen)*(HFIP), L1 – methyl trifluorosalicylate], in which the ester ligand was preserved.

Аннотация: Novel pharmacologically active silicon—titanium—zinc- and silicon—titanium—boron-containing glycerohydrogels were synthesized by the sol—gel method using silicon, titanium, zinc, and boron glycerolates as biocompatible precursors. The compositions and structural features of the hydrogels were studied by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, IR spectroscopy, atomic emission spectrometry, and elemental analysis methods. The disperse phase and liquid water—glycerol medium of the hydrogels were isolated by cold exhaustive extraction with ethanol and characterized. The 3D polymeric network of the gels is formed by the products of hydrolysis and subsequent (co)condensation of silicon-/silicon—boron-containing precursors. Titanium and zinc glycerolates undergo no hydrolytic transformations under gelation conditions and exist in the cells of the 3D polymeric network in the form of amorphous nanoparticles that are not linked to the network by covalent bonds. Models of the structures were proposed. The gels are characterized by antimicrobial activity, which is more pronounced for the silicon—titanium—boron-containing gel, and they can be considered as promising drugs for topical treatment prepared by the simple, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective method.

Аннотация: A concise procedure was developed for the synthesis of silver-containing xerogels Ag(0)/TiO2 [0.23.2 wt % Ag(0)], including the dissolution of AgNO3 in tetrabutoxytitanium, hydrolysis of the solution in acetic acid–water vapors, drying, and calcining the xerogel at 600–800°C. It was found by X-ray diff raction analysis and electron microscopy that the bulk of metallic silver particles (75–90%) in the material calcined at 800°C has a size of 25–45 nm. The fraction of particles (in the form of crystal intergrowths) with a diameter of 95–115 nm rises with an increase in the AgNO3 concentration at the dissolution stage; TiO2 is present in the rutile phase. At a calcination temperature of 600°C, the dominant TiO2 phase (72%) is anatase; in this case the size of silver particles is 5–10 nm.

Аннотация: Nucleotide analogues are the divergent scaffolds that are reliable potential therapeutic drugs to treat the wide range of diseases including viral infections. For instance, Remdesivir is a biologically important nucleotide analogue prodrug that can act as a key drug target for the diseases Ebola and COVID-19. Remdesivir is a structurally chiral aryloxy-phosphoramidate prodrug as it is metabolized into nucleoside triphosphate (active drug form) inside the cell through sequential reactions by ester mediated-hydrolysis. Thus, the current minireview focuses on the earlier reported synthetic approaches of key fragments of remdesivir and their developments to attain the scale-up yields of the drug for clinical/commercial applies. Further, this review serves as a template for the design and development of other complex organic molecules.

Аннотация: We demonstrate a few-step technique for the synthesis of PdO/TiO2 and Pd/TiO2 (0.1–2.0 wt % Pd) xerogels, which comprises hydrolysis of a palladium nitrate solution in titanium tetrabutoxide in the vapor atmosphere over an aqueous acetic acid solution, drying, and calcination of the material between 800 and 870°C. According to X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy characterization results, after calcination at 800°C the xerogels contained palladium in the form of PdO particles ≤3–5 nm in size. The highly dispersed palladium(II) oxide covered the surface of the rutile crystallites and filled pores in between. Throughout the range of Pd(NO3)2 concentrations studied, the PdO particles were identical in size. In the material calcined at 870°C, palladium had the form of metallic particles ranging in diameter from 55 to 420 nm. Raising the palladium nitrate concentration in titanium tetrabutoxide was shown to increase the average size of the Pd particles.

Аннотация: The hitherto unknown ethyl pentafluorobenzoylpiruvate was prepared by condensing pentafluoroacetophenone with diethyl oxalate. Intramolecular cyclization of this ester or of its copper(II) chelate, as well as of ethyl 2-(ethoxymethylene)pentafluorobenzoylacetate affords 2- and 3-ethoxycarbonyl-5,6,7,8-tetrafluorochromones. Аннотация: On the basis of the results obtained from NMR spectroscopy, X-ray analysis and chemical transformations, it was established that acidic hydrolysis of (2S,4S)-4-arylaminoglutamates results in the formation of lactams in which ring closure occurs with the participation of the Y-amino and alfa-COOH groups; but isomeric lactams resulting from the participation of the alfa-amino and Y-COOH groups are not formed. Isomeric lactams, that is, (2S,4S)-4-arylamino-5-oxoprolines, can be easily converted in acidic medium into more stable 4-amino-1-aryl-5-oxoprolines.
