Аннотация: Biocatalysts based on the methylotrophic yeast Ogataea polymorpha VKM Y-2559 immobilized in polymer-based nanocomposites for the treatment of methanol-containing wastewater were developed. The organosilica composites with different matrix-to-filler ratios derived from TEOS/MTES in the presence of PEG (SPEG-composite) and from silicon-polyethylene glycol (STPEG-composite) differ in the structure of the silicate phase and its distribution in the composite matrix. Methods of fluorescent and scanning microscopy first confirmed the formation of an organosilica shell around living yeast cells during sol-gel bio-STPEG-composite synthesis. Biosensors based on the yeast cells immobilized in STPEG- and SPEG-composites are characterized by effective operation: the coefficient of sensitivity is 0.85 ± 0.07 mgO2 × min−1 × mmol−1 and 0.87 ± 0.05 mgO2 × min−1 × mmol−1, and the long-term stability is 10 and 15 days, respectively. The encapsulated microbial cells are protected from UV radiation and the toxic action of heavy metal ions. Biofilters based on the developed biocatalysts are characterized by high effectiveness in the utilization of methanol-rich wastewater—their oxidative power reached 900 gO2/(m3 × cycle), and their purification degree was up to 60%.

Аннотация: Three efficient synthetic approaches towards new azomethine- and terpyridine-containing 2,5-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione (diketopyrrolopyrrole, DPP) based polymers, such as P1 and P2, are reported. The first approach involves the Pd-catalyzed synthesis via two- or three-component Suzuki or Stille cross-coupling reaction in solution. The second approach involves Pd-catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling reaction under ballmilling conditions. And, finally, the third approach involves Pd-free condensation reaction under ball-milling conditions. The newly obtained polymers exhibited absorbance around 700 nm and emission around 900 nm, and, thus, these polymers are considered to be NIR-fluorophores.

Аннотация: 1,4-Bis(5-phenyl-2-oxazolyl)benzene (POPOP) is a common scintillation fluorescent laser dye. In this manuscript, the synthesis of 2-Ar-5-(4-(4-Ar'-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)phenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles (Ar, Ar' = Ph, naphtalenyl-2, pyrenyl-1, triphenilenyl-2), as PAH-based aza-analogues of POPOP, by means of Cu-catalyzed click reaction between 2-(4-azidophenyl)-5-Ar-1,3,4-oxadiazole and terminal ethynyl-substituted PAHs is reported. An investigation of the photophysical properties of the obtained products was carried out, and their sensory response to nitroanalytes was evaluated. In the case of pyrenyl-1-substituted aza-POPOP, dramatic fluorescence quenching by nitroanalytes was observed.

Аннотация: In this work, we report the synthesis of novel coumarin-bipyridine conjugates using a sequence of C-C coupling reaction between 5,7-dimethoxycoumarins and 3-pyridyl-6-aryl-1,2,4-triazines followed by the Boger reaction with norbornandiene to obtain 8-[2,2'-bipyridyl]-5,7-dimethoxycoumarins. Photophysical properties were investigated for the obtained series of 8-[2,2'-bipyridyl]-5,7-dimethoxycoumarins: absorption and emission wavelength maxima are in the region of 212-296 and 401-410 nm, respectively; Stokes shifts are up to 116 nm, and fluorescence quantum yields are up to 15.0%. It was found that titrating the conjugates with Al3+, Zn2+, and Cd2+ ions results in an increase in the intensity of the emission maxima of the complexes, while the opposite effect was observed in the case of titration with Cu2+ ions. These findings suggest that the studied compounds may be considered as promising chemosensing materials. Finally, a positive solvatochromism of 8-[2,2'-bipyridyl]coumarins and their metal complexes was established. The experimental data are supported by mathematical calculations according to the Lippert-Matagaequation and Kosower diagram.

Аннотация: Herein, we report a convenient one-pot synthesis of 1,2,4-triazinyl derivatives of benzocoumarins. The proposed approach consists of the nucleophilic addition of tetrahydrobenzo annulated dimethoxycoumarin to 1,2,4-triazines followed by double oxidation of both dihydrotriazine and tetrahydrobenzo groups with 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ). The nucleophilic addition of the dimethoxycoumarin to 1,2,4-triazines was carried out in the presence of three-fold excess of methanesulfonic acid in DCM at room temperature. It takes place between positions 8 and 5 of coumarin and 1,2,4-triazine, respectively. The double oxidation step was carried out with 3.6 equivalent of DDQ. Selective oxidation of dihydrotriazine moiety, without affecting the tetrahydrobenzo fragment, was achieved using 1.2 equivalent of tetrachlorobenzoquinone (TCQ). The differences in the oxidation with TCQ and DDQ appear to be related to the higher oxidative potential of DDQ in contrast to TCQ. The advantages of the method are the elimination of the use of transition metals, the availability of starting materials, and the simplicity of the procedure. The proposed approach provides a two-step one-pot protocol for the synthesis of triazinyl benzocoumarins, precursors for the preparation of push-pull pyridinyl chromophore.

This review analyzes the accumulated experience and achievements towards the design of chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances. The review presents the views of leading Russian scientists specializing in various fields of this subject, including homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, fine and basic organic synthesis, electrochemistry, polymer chemistry, chemistry based on bio-renewable feedstocks and chemistry of energetic compounds and materials. A new approach to the quantitative evaluation of the environmental friendliness of processes developed by Russian authors is described.

Аннотация: The efficiencies of hydrogen peroxide derivatives in the Baeyer–Villiger oxidation of cyclopen­tanone to δ-valerolactone have been compared. The oxidants used were hydrogen peroxide in acetic, formic, or trifluoroacetic acid, magnesium and sodium monoperoxyphthalates, cumene hydroperoxide, and tert-butyl hydroperoxide. The oxidation was carried out in water, aqueous methanol, and water–ethyl acetate. Sodium and magnesium monoperoxyphthalates turned out to provide high conversion and selectivity under mild conditions.

A green protocol has been developed for the synthesis of simple coumarins and linear pyrano[2,3-f] and [3,2-f]indoles by the reaction of phenol derivatives with β-ketoesters under ball milling at ambient temperature in the presence of methanesulfonic acid as a mild acid catalyst. The significant advantages of this procedure are high yields, scalability, no use of hazardous acids or solvents, shorter reaction time, ambient temperature, low cost, and straightforward purification without column chromatography. This procedure is associated with high EcoScale metrics and a low E-factor. In contrast to traditional Pechmann condensation procedures, the mechanochemical protocol leads to the synthesis of pyranoindoles with excellent regioselectivity and high yields.

Аннотация: Various conditions for the inverse electron-demand aza-Diels–Alder reaction in the series of 5-aryl-3-(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazine-5-carbonitriles and 2-amino-4-aryloxazoles to obtain 4,5-diaryl-3-hydroxy-2,2'-bipyridine-6-carbonitriles were tested. Heating in 1,2-dichlorobenzene or under solvent-free conditions were found to be the most effective.

Аннотация: Nitrosation of lithium 1,3-diketonates bearing fluoroalkyl and aryl (or hetaryl) substituents in positions 1 and 3 results in 3-polyfluoroalkyl-1,2,3-propanetrione 2-oximes (from this point on, oximes). Under similar conditions, lithium (Z)-1,1,1-trifluoro-4-oxo-4-(thien-2-yl)-2-buten-2-olate forms a hydration product of the corresponding oxime. Nitrosation of fluoroalkyl-containing lithium 1,3-diketonates is accompanied by retro-decomposition of the initial lithium 1,3-diketonates and the target oximes (or their hydration products) followed by oxidation and hydrolysis of the reaction products. Under the GC-MS conditions, the oximes undergo partial thermal decomposition to 2-aryl(hetaryl)-2-oxoethanenitriles. An analysis of solutions of the oximes in DMSO-d6 by 1H and 19F NMR spectroscopies revealed isomerization and hydration of these compounds. The temperature ranges of stability of the oximes were determined by thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis. The molecular and crystal structures of 4,4-difluoro-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,2,3-butanetrione 2-oxime and 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-(thien-2-yl)-1,2,3-butanetrione 2-oxime were determined by X-ray diffraction.
