Аннотация: A series of new hybrid organo-inorganic sorbents with the 3-aminopropionate chelating group was synthesized. The synthesis includes the copolycondensation (sol—gel method) of tetraethoxysilane, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, and several modifiers (MeSi(OEt)3, EtSi(OEt)3, Ti(OEt)4, AlONO3, ZrOCl2) followed by carboxyethylation with acrylic acid. The obtained chelating sorbents were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy, and thermogravimetry. The N-carboxylated sorbents have a higher sorption capacity with respect to metal ions (0.5–0.9 mmol g?1, pH 6.3, NH4OAc, 20 °C) than the starting sorbents with the primary amino group (0.05–0.2 mmol g?1) and manifest high selectivity for copper(II) ion extraction

Аннотация: A series of gamma-aminopropylsilylated sorbents was obtained from different oxide supports (silica gels, silica fillers, macroporous glasses, alumina) and by the direct synthesis (hydrolytic polycondensation of tetraalkoxysilanes with gamma-aminopropyltriethoxysilane). The highest degree of immobilization was achieved for silicas, while the most convenient solvent was methanol. Sorbents with beta-alanine functional groups were obtained by the subsequent reaction with acrylic acid. The degree of beta-carboxyethylation was 1.3–1.9, and the highest content of functional groups (vCOOH = 3.23 mmol g–1) was achieved for carboxyethylated xero gel synthesized by the copolycondensation of tetraethoxysilane with -aminopropyltriethoxysilane. The sorbents containing beta-alanine possess a higher selectivity of Cu2+ ion sorption than the initial gamma-aminopropylsilylated sorbents

Аннотация: Organic-inorganic hybrid sorbents based on a polysiloxane modified with amino and thiourea groups have been synthesized for the first time by a sol-gel process. The structure of the sorbents has been determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and IR spectroscopy. Their thermal stability has been assessed and the mechanism of their degradation has been elucidated. The structural and adsorption parameters of the sorbents have been evaluated. The results demonstrate that the introduction of amino groups into the structure of the polysiloxane yields an effective sorbent for Pb(II) extraction and enables Cu(II) and Zn(II) separation from Co(II) and Ni(II). The thiourea-modified polysiloxane selectively sorbs Bi(III) (0.1-2 M HCl), Pt(IV) (pH 2), and Pb(II) (pH 3). Divalent Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn can be sorbed from alkaline solutions

Аннотация: The article describes a new synthetic approach to modify the structure of phenol-formaldehyde and resorcinol-formaldehyde resins, which enables one to functionalize a polymer matrix by using the S?NH (nucleophilic aromatic substitution of hydrogen) methodology. Direct heteroarylation of phenol (resorcinol) fragments in polymer chains with 1,2,4-triazine derivatives illustrates a new synthetic method in the polymer chemistry. The feature of this methodology is that it provides an opportunity to accomplish direct one-pot polymer transformations by incorporating of rather complicated chelating groups through the displacement of hydrogen in phenol moieties. It has been shown that in order to obtain chemically modified polymers on the basis of phenol-formaldehyde and resorcinol-formaldehyde resins with a high degree of substitution with chelating units, a polymer matrix has to react with 3-(pyridin-2'-yl)-1,2,4-triazin-5(2H)-one. Also, it has been found that polymer sorbents with a high selectivity can be obtained by using the template method. Targeted synthesis of model compounds, as structural units of the chelating polymers, and elucidation of the structure of their complexes with copper (II) ions have shown that the most plausible type of coordination is formation of the bridge 1 : 1 complexes of the a,a'-bipyridinyl type.

Аннотация: Hybrid nanocomposite films containing silica (11.4 wt.%) or titania (18.8 wt.%) in the polymer matrix were prepared by the sol—gel method using the hydrolytic polycondensation of tetraethoxysilane and tetrabutoxysilane in a THF solution of aromatic polymer, polysulfone (PSF). The influence of the oxide nature and the film composition on the structure, the interaction of the polymer with oxides, hydrophilicity, and sorption—diffusion properties of the hybrid films were studied by FTIR spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, dynamic light scattering, and a complex of other physicochemical methods. The absence of chemical or intermolecular hydrogen bonds between the polymer and oxide particles in the PSF films was shown. The average size of the oxides (SiO2, 20 nm; TiO2, ~90 nm) in the films and roughness of their surface (~0.2—0.8 nm) were determined. The introduction of oxides into the polymer matrix increases the hydrophilic properties and the ability of the PSF films to swell in water; the diffusion coefficients of water and permeability of water vapor in the PSF films also increase. Titania also induces a more considerable change in the structure of the polymer matrix and more strongly affects the sorption—diffusion properties of the hybrid films in aqueous solutions of THF. All prepared nanocomposite films PSF/SiO2 and PSF/TiO2 are capable of extracting an organic component from aqueous solutions and can be used as sorbents and membrane films for the removal of organic substances from the aqueous medium

Аннотация: This study presents a simple and effective synthesis method of N-(2-sulfoethyl)chitosan (NSE-chitosan) via a reaction between sodium 2-bromoethanesulfonate and chitosan that allows polymer transformation without using additional reagents and organic solvents. The chemical structure of the obtained NSE-chitosan was characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopies. Thermogravimetric study of NSE-chitosan coupled with FT-IR analysis has shown stability of the polymer up to 200 °C, which almost does not change with the increase of degree of substitution (DS). The sorption of transition and alkaline earth metal ions from multicomponent solutions on NSE-chitosan was investigated. The synthesized sorbents showed the selective recovery of silver(I) and copper(II) ions from ammonium acetate buffer solution. The increase of DS enhanced the selectivity to silver(I) ions sorption in comparison with copper(II) ions. Selectivity coefficients KAg/Cu increase from 1.3 to 10.9 with DS increasing up to 0.7 (ammonium acetate buffer solution, pH 6.5). Sorption isotherms of transition metal ions on NSE-chitosan with DS = 0.5 have been fitted using Langmuir, Freundlich, and Redlich-Peterson models. The maximum sorption capacities of sorbent in ammonium acetate buffer solution at pH 6.0 were 1.72 mmol/g for Cu(II), 1.23 mmol/g for Ag(I) and below 0.5 mmol/g for Co(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), Mn(II) and Ni(II) ions

Аннотация: We have suggested a one-step method for the synthesis of thi-ocarbamoyl derivatives of polyallylamine (TСPAA) and polyaminostyrene (TСPAS) in the eutectic melt thiourea/ammonium thiocyanate, that is more safe and simple in comparison with the known method of functionalization using carbon disulfide. The resulting derivatives are insoluble and can be used as sor-bents without additional cross-linking. Sorption properties of TCPAA and TCPAS toward gold, silver and mercury ions have been studied in solutions of ammonia-thiosulfate leaching of gold and silver-containing sludge of Chalgan experimental workshop, which are also contaminated with mercury. It was shown that both TCPAA and TCPAS are efficient sorbents for silver, while ef-fective recovery of gold and mercury is achieved only with low- and medium-substituted TCPAA.

Аннотация: Dependencies for the sorption of palladium(II), gold(III), and platinum(IV) chloro complexes from individual and binary solutions with sorbents based on sulfoethylated polyallylamine and poly(aminostyrene) have been obtained. It has been found that predominant sorption mechanism is complexation with functional groups of the sorbents for gold(III) and palladium(II) and ion exchange for platinum(IV). It has been shown that increase in the sulfoethylation degree of aminopolymer matrix leads to decrease of platinum(IV) sorption and therefore, to increase in palladium(II) sorption selectivity relative to this ion. This effect is the largest for the sorbents based on polyallylamine. The conditions of quantitative desorption of the studied metals from sorbent surface have been determined. The sorption of gold(III) by the sorbent based on polyallylamine has been shown to be complicated by gold(III) reduction in sorbent phase.

Аннотация: Synthesis and study of the physicochemical properties of silsesquioxanes modified with 3-aminopropyl, 2-aminoethyl-3-aminopropyl, and dithiooxamide groups was carried out. The obtained sorbents were characterized by thermal stability, porosity, and a high degree of functionalization; the concentration of groups grafted to the particle surface reached 2.80 mmol g−1. Modified silsesquioxanes were used as an electroactive substance for the development of indicator carbon paste electrodes (CPEs). When using a CPE with a 5% dithiooxamidated silsesquioxane content, the conditions selected for potentiometric titration of aqueous solutions containing silverI were pH 3–4, the titrant was potassium iodide. The designed sensor was successfully tested by analyzing a standard sample and a drug for silver ion content.
