Аннотация: The creep of a magnetic flux trapped in a bulk high-temperature superconductor has been studied. It has been found that the magnetic relaxation is retarded when the superconductor is placed near a ferromagnet. The value of the retardation effect depends on the sequence of magnetization and the approach of the superconductor to a ferromagnet. The magnetic relaxation is fully suppressed when a superconducting sample first is magnetized and then is brought close to a ferromagnet. An interpretation of this effect has been discussed. Being magnetized, a ferromagnet produces its own magnetic field. While penetrating into a disk sample through its planes, the ferromagnet field induces screening currents, which circulate oppositely to the current that arises upon trapping of the magnetic flux. As a result, the stability of the magnetic structure is sharply improved since opposite driving forces can act on different sections of the vortices

Аннотация: An alternative theory of homogeneous nucleation based on the theorem on surges has been formulated. This theory gives a steeper temperature dependence of the homogeneous nucleation rate along isobars than that given by the classical Doring−Volmer−Frenkel−Zeldovich−Kagan theory. By the alternative theory, lines of attainable superheat lie much higher than classical ones and are close to the spinodal. Taking into account the dependence of the surface tension on r, i.e., the nucleus radius of curvature, assuming the power dependence of the Tolman length, δ = const/rn, from the theories for different liquids the boundary of attainable superheats moves toward lower temperatures

Аннотация: The effect of the magnetic flux creep on the levitation stability of high-temperature superconductors was studied. It was shown experimentally that under a unipolar magnetization the levitation force decreased at a logarithmic velocity characteristic of the creep process. If the current structure was bi- or multi-polar one, which was formed in a sample exposed to a reversing external magnetic field, the force remained unchanged during a certain period of time. The theory of relaxation of magnetization and force for a partial and full penetration of the critical state was considered. It was shown that relaxation decelerated sharply if the region with a current producing the main magnetization was far from the superconductor surface. A concept of an open and internal magnetic relaxation was introduced. The time of the internal relaxation for different reverse depths was estimated. The calculated values approached the experimental values of the levitation stabilization time

Аннотация: The results of measurements of the average expectation time of boiling up of strongly superheated n-hexane in structures from different finely dispersed powders whose smallest size is about 10 nm by using isotherms and isobars are presented. As was proposed by Academician V.P. Skripov, isotherm sections with the heterogeneous boiling up mechanism were processed with the help of Zhurkov’s formula, which is based on the thermofluctuation hypothesis of solid body strength. Thus, temperature dependences of the characteristic volume, whose excess leads to the system division into macroscopic phases, have been found for the systems studied. An approach dealing with the boiling up of superheated liquid as a fluctuation in a locally isolated microvolume is used to describe the isobars. To calculate the work of formation of the characteristic volume, its values obtained at the processing of isotherms are used. The system of equations for the temperature dependence of the average expectation time of n-hexane boiling up in isobars has three empirical constants. A rather accurate description of isobars is obtained at a proper choice of these constants. The result obtained confirms that the idea of Academician V.P. Skripov is successful

Аннотация: This study deals with the decrease in the levitation force under the action of an ac field up to the frequency at which oscillations of the superconducting suspension are limited by inertia. The lifting force was measured as a function of the ac field amplitude and the exposure time. It was shown that the force quickly decreased at the moment the ac field was applied and then continued diminishing, but at a lower rate. A qualitative model was proposed, taking into account two effects of the ac field on the magnetization of the levitating superconductor: a complete destruction of the critical state in some section of the superconductor (to a depth λac) and the initiation of a faster magnetic relaxation in the region where the induction gradient is preserved

It may be assumed therefore that homogeneous boiling-up of a liquid takes place in experiments, and the theory has been verified experimentally well. Аннотация: Stopping of levitation force relaxation in superconductors under conditions of flux creep was studied experimentally. This effect appears when the flux profile is modulated in the near-surface layer of a superconductor. It was assumed that levitation was stabilized thanks to locking of the magnetic flux and internal magnetic relaxation. During this relaxation, the flux was redistributed in a sample, but the full flux and the average magnetization of the sample remained unchanged. Аннотация: In this communication, we discuss the phenomenon of attainable superheat of liquid and the peculiarities of its release by spontaneous boiling-up. We have combined the apparatus for superheating, namely, bubble chamber, with a high speed micro-optical method for detailed monitoring of the initial stage of boiling-up. In experiments on the isothermal pressure drop, it was found that the boiling-up onset of n-hexane is accompanied by characteristic step signal. The signal has proved to be typical of the heterogeneous character of boiling-up onset in a whole range of superheating degrees. The performance of the method for investigation of the refractive index and density for superheated liquids as functions of temperature and pressure has been revealed. The experimental error is estimated to be 0.1%.

Аннотация: The phenomenon of the suppression of magnetic relaxation in a high temperature superconduc tor (HTSC) with trapped magnetic flux has been observed when the superconducting sample approached a ferromagnet. It is suggested that the ferromagnet is magnetized in the magnetic field of the sample and, in turn, induces currents in the superconductor, which circulate in a direction opposite to that of the trapped flux current. As a result, the magnetic structure becomes stable with respect to the magnetic flux creep because oppositely directed Lorentz forces can act upon different regions of vortices.
