Аннотация: In order to fabricate oxide-metallic composites with the composition 25.3NiO-41.2Fe2O3-13.5Cr2O3-20.0Cu (wt %), the temperature and duration of sintering (1350°C, 30 min) that ensure the formation of the solid solution of chromium oxide in nickel ferrite have been determined. This material is tested as an anode for the electrolysis of the low-temperature solution with the composition 12.0NaF-36.8KF-51.2AlF3 (wt %), which was saturated with Al2O3 (t = 800°C). The amount of gaseous oxygen evolved on the anode was measured. It is shown that the main reaction on an anode at current density i = 0.015–1.0 A cm−2 is the oxidation of oxygen-containing anions from a melt with the formation of gaseous O2 and a substantial increase in the oxidation rate of the composite anode is observed at i 1.0 A cm−2. The voltage across the electrolyzer (4.5 ± 0.5 V) and the anodic potential (2.43 ± 0.2 relative to the Al reference electrode) during a prolonged experiment (for 89 h, i = 0.4 A cm−2) indicate a stable and acceptable electrical conductivity of the material, while the dissolution rate, which was calculated by the weight loss (0.6 kg/yr) and volume loss (0.7 cm/yr), satisfy the requirements to inert anodes.

Аннотация: Existing designs of reference electrodes for potentiometric measurements in fluoride melts do not meet basic requirements of the long exposure corrosion tests to be performed. A new diaphragm-free three-electrode meter with a nonstationary (dynamic) beryllium reference electrode for the redox potential measurements was developed. Optimum conditions of forming dynamic beryllium reference electrode were determined in the laboratory tests in isothermal cell. The device for redox potential measurement was designed and it was shown that it is highly sensitive to changes redox potential within ±5 mV. Reliability and efficiency of diaphragm-free device with dynamic reference electrode was confirmed in the thermal convection corrosion loop operating more than 1200 h with molten 15LiF–58NaF–27BeF2 mixture (mol%) at a maximum temperature of about 700 °C.????

Аннотация: This work presents the electrochemical study of YbCl3 in molten CsCl in the temperature range 973–1073 K. Transient electrochemical techniques have been used in order to investigate the reduction mechanism, transport parameters and thermodynamics properties of the reaction YbCl2+1/2Cl2=YbCl3. The results obtained show that the reduction reaction is reversible being controlled by the rate of the mass transfer. The diffusion coefficient of [YbCl6]3- complex ions was determined. The apparent standard electrode potential of the soluble–soluble redox system Yb3+/Yb2+ was obtained by cyclic voltammetry.

Аннотация: This work presents the electrochemical study of Cm(III) in fused 3LiCl–2KCl eutectic in the temperature range 723–923 K. Transient electrochemical techniques such as cyclic, square wave voltammetries, and chronopotentiometry have been used in order to investigate the reduction mechanism of curium ions up to metal. The results obtained show that the reduction reaction takes place in a single step . The diffusion coefficient of Cm3+ ions was determined by cyclic voltammetry at different temperatures by applying Berzins–Delahay equation. The validity of the Arrhenius law was also verified and the activation energy for diffusion was found to be 28.21 kJ mol-1. The apparent standard electrode potential of the redox couple Cm(III)/Cm(0) was found by chronopotentiometry at several temperatures. The thermodynamic properties of curium trichloride have also been calculated.??

The diffusion coefficient of [CmCl6]3- complex ions was determined by cyclic voltammetry at different temperatures by applying the Berzins–Delahay equation. The apparent standard electrode potential of the redox couple Cm(III)/Cm(0) was found by chronopotentiometry at several temperatures. The apparent standard potential of the soluble–soluble redox system Yb(III)/Yb(II) has been obtained by cyclic voltammetry. The influence of the nature of the solvent on the electrochemical and thermodynamic properties of ytterbium compounds is discussed.

Аннотация: This study examines potential benefits of adopting ultrashort optical pulses in fuel cell technology. General principles for jumping migration of protons in resonant laser fields have been elaborated. We find that, depending upon the frequency of phonon assistance, the effective activation energy for migration can be strongly diminished when excitation pulses are used. The obtained results indicate that at room temperature the picosecond-laser-induced proton transfer in rutile type oxides is much faster than that for thermal activation. Our estimates are in good agreement with time-resolved measurements for rutile samples excited by infrared light. The fundamentals of this transfer process are briefly analyzed in the light of structure diffusion and vibrational mode models. The most important conclusion to emerge from our work is that the use of the optical stimulation shows considerable promise as a means for decreasing the operating temperature of solid oxide fuel cells based on proton hopping transport.

Аннотация: The influence of sodium (Na) additions with different chemical natures (sodium peroxide Na2O2 and sodium chloride NaCl on the mechanism and kinetics of aluminum Al corrosion was investigated. Auger electron spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and x-ray structure spectroscopy were used to analyze the corrosion products. Na2O2 promoted formation of more compact, less defective films. At high temperature, the introduction of peroxide into the salt phase resulted in the emergence of different oxigen (O) ions and a film with higher O content NaCl additions destroyed the coating through formation of pits and local solutions of oxide layers. The greater the concentration of active ions was, the less the initial depassivation potential was. Increases in anodic polarization and concentrations of chloride ions (Cl-) diminished induction time. Films consisted only of alpha-LiAlO2, a crystal modification of lithium aluminate
