Аннотация: The diamagnetic dinuclear complex Ni2L4 was synthesized by the reaction of NiCl2·6H2O with 2-mercaptobenzimidazole (LH) in ethanol in the presence of Et3N. The solid-state reaction (reagent ratio Ni: LH = 1: 2) followed by recrystallization of the reaction product from a MeCN-THF mixture afforded crystals of the associate [Ni2L4]2·[NiCl2(LH)2(MeCN)2] containing four acetonitrile solvate molecules. Crystals of 2·4MeCN exhibit ferromagnetic properties at helium temperatures

Аннотация: Heterospin complexes of bis(?2-1,1,2,2,8,8,9,9-octafluorononane-3,5,7-trionato)dicopper(II) ([Cu2L2]) with nitronyl nitroxides 2-(1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole-1-oxyl 3-oxide (2) and 4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-2-(3-pyridinyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole-1-oxyl 3-oxide (1) were synthesized and structurally characterized. Crystals of the complexes are formed by the discrete bis[1-methyl-4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-3-oxide-1-oxyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole]-bis (?2-1,1,2,2,8,8,9,9-octafluorononane-3,5,7-trionato)dicopper(II) etherate (3) and bis[3-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-3-oxide-1-oxyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)pyridine]-bis (?2-1,1,2,2,8,8,9,9-octafluorononane-3,5,7-trionato)dicopper(II) (4) molecules. Each Cu atom of the dinuclear chelate fragment coordinates one paramagnetic ligand through the N atom of the pyrazole or pyridine fragment, respectively. In complex 3, the paramagnetic ligands are located on one side of the plane of the chelate fragment, whereas the ligands in complex 4 are located above and below the plane of the chelate fragment. The magnetic properties of complexes 3 and 4 are determined by dominant antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between the unpaired electrons of the CuII atoms in the dinuclear Cu2L2 moiety

Аннотация: Dinuclear complexes of CuII with 3-(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-6-(2-hydroxyethylami-no)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine (1) and CoII with 3-(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-6-(piperidin-1-yl)-1,2,4,5- tetrazine (2) were synthesized and structurally characterized, and the magnetic (SQUID) and resonance (EPR) properties of van der Waals crystals based on these complexes were studied. Unusual behavior of the effective magnetic moment ?eff(T) is observed at T 60 K. A nonmonotonic increase in eff() for 1 (s~6 %) and a 20% reduction of eff for 2 have a common origin and are due to the influence of spin-orbital coupling on the character of the splitting between the t2g and eg levels of the central ion. Distortions of the coordination site “switch on” a positive (1) or negative (2) contribution of the orbital magnetic moment near 6 K. Irreversible temperature behavior of eff(T) in the heating and cooling regimes in the vicinity of 60 K suggests that the character of structural distortions and the magnetic properties are related to ligand geometry. This factor plays a significant role in crystal engineering of magnetoactive structures with polynitrogen ligands

The empirical formula of the compound is C30H34Cl4Co2N2O2S2, the crystals are monoclinic, a = 9.9382(13) A, b = 11.9097(8) A, c = 14.5715(11) A = 102.511(9)°, Z = 2, space group P21/c. The complex is dimeric with bridging chlorine atoms, and the heterocyclic ligand L is tridentate-cyclic

Аннотация: Specific features of crystal packings and pre-organization of diarylideneacetonyl crownophane molecules to solid-phase photochemical transformations were studied on the basis of X-ray diffraction data using methods of simulation of molecular crystal packings. The tendency of the most part of the synthesized macrocyclic E,E-isomers to the formation of homochiral crystals (P212121) was revealed, while (23E,26E)-11,12,14,15-tetrahydro-8H-dinaphtho-[2,1-k:1′,2′-r][1,4,7,10]tetraoxacyclononadecine-23,26-dien-25(9H)-one is prone to polymorphism. A phenomenon of solid-phase stereospecific photochemical dimerization of molecules according to the syn-head-to-tail type without crystal destruction (single crystal—single crystal transformation) was found for one of the modifications of this crownophane

Аннотация: Photoinduced transformations of 2-styrylquinazolinones in solutions were studied using absorption and NMR spectroscopy methods. A possibility of control of the photochemical isomerization rate of quinazolinone 2-(hydroxyaryl)ethenyl derivatives by changing the pH of the medium was demonstrated. The bases and the solvent nature also affect the luminescence intensity of solutions of these compounds in the wavelength range of 550-650 nm. The differences in the steric organization of the ortho-hydroxystyryldiazinone system in crystals and in solutions related to the turn of the aryl group were found. Their influence on the competing processes of luminescence and photochemical transformation of the ethylene fragment were shown. The fact of reversible photo/thermal E-Z-isomerization was established for (E)-2-(2-hydroxystyryl)-3-phenylquinazolin-4(3H)-one.
